If you live in a condo building, please contact the building’s property management company. Their information is usually posted on a plaque by the front entrance to the building. Most condo buildings use one furnace and one hot water heater, therefore if you are having an issue, then likely other residents in the building are experiencing the same issue.

  • Replace the batteries. All smoke alarms have batteries inside. If the alarm is hard-wired, then there is a battery backup. The lifespan of most smoke alarms is about 7-8 years. Check the date on the back of the alarm. If more than 7 years old, please contact BBA Management, Inc. and we can inspect.

  • YES! Keep your thermostat set to at least 72 degrees, leave you sinks and showers water dripping & leave kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors open to allow warm air around pipes. If you experience frozen or burst pipes, please call 617-734-6900 ext. 4 for our on-call staff to be paged.

  • NO! Leave the heat at a minimum of 68-72 degrees. This will help assure the pipes in the house won’t freeze or burst. Also, make sure all doors & windows are locked and blinds are down to help prevent break-ins. It is a good idea to leave a light on to help prevent a break-in.
